Weekly Meet 2

Tuesday 11th October

Where are we at?

This week, we met up at the Shed to keep the ball rolling and allow time to check how everyone had been getting on with the project. First of all, we rearranged the social media photo shoot for Friday 14th @ 11.30am, in order to add content to the sites and give the company a professional edge. We discussed promotion videos, film festivals, fundraising campaigns and costumes designs, although ideas are still working progress due to the stage we are at.

Our first meeting with Mikey is to take place tomorrow @ 4.30pm, this will be a chance for us sound guys to meet with the media student’s tutor and gather expectations, as well as progress and development.

Other than that, not too much to report, just the continuation of research and planning for the film.

Sound Team Meet

Allocating Roles

It was soon becoming clear for this project that as a Sound Team, we must delegate roles to each person in order to add more organization, preparation and efficiency to the project. Therefore, in this meeting we came up with a solution to our roles dilemma – originally we had planned to be as flexible as possible, allowing each member of the team experience within each role as we are still learning our trade. To see the outcome of this meeting, please follow this link and find the ‘Roles’ subheading.

Weekly Meet 1

Wednesday 5th October

Organising Meetings and Schedules

As a film crew, we decided upon having weekly meetings to ensure productivity, improve communication and collaboration and bring up any issues that were easier to discuss in person than through Messenger.

Hannah had begun to create a timescale of events for the project:
October 29th – rough start date to begin shooting
November 3-17th – Total filming schedule
November 18th – Edit for the film begins
December 2nd – Sound Team receive final picture lock and start work
December 16th – Hand in @ 4pm

This was a rough draft, not set-in-stone, and we all agreed upon these dates. This allowed us approximately two weeks to complete the soundtrack for the film and preparation to book time working in the Sound Theatre.

We also arranged the time and place of meetings with Mikey Murray, the tutor who is overseeing our project. On top of this, we additionally organized a time for a professional photo shoot in order to create a ‘Meet the Team’-type post for Facebook. Unfortunately, the studio was double booked and we had to rearrange.

The objectives for the upcoming week were to continue researching and rearrange the photo shoot.

Second Group Meeting

After a long Summer, the group met at the University’s library, 1pm, in order to meet Jamie for the first time – who was unfortunately unable to attend the first meeting – and have a general discussion about the project, ideas, how the research went and what our tasks were for the next meeting.

The deadlines set by Hannah over Summer were missed by some, although everyone had a viable reason and agreed to improve upon this going forward. Lauren explained research and progress that had been made, such as the organization of auditions, location scouting and fundraising. As well as this, she was on the fourth draft of the script and welcome to any ideas or improvements the rest of the team had after reading through it previously.

The team agreed to continue their research as we waited to be assigned a tutor, which would then allow us the go-ahead with the script, location and such like.
